NATURAL STYLE KUNGFU or ZIRANMEN, is a rare and unique traditional martial art that includes methods of flexibility, forms, weapons, nei gong, self-defense, and body conditioning. It calls for the use of the entire body in an integrated way to exercise and progressively strengthen the muscles, tendons, ligaments and bones. It has similarities to both Shaolin and Wudang meaning it has the strong points of both external and internal styles so the body is controlled in a way that is both powerful and graceful, fast and slow, hard and soft. Classes teach confidence, patience, and discipline while improving your grace, strength, agility, and self defense skills.

"It’s not easy to find a Master these days, search the
world and you’ll see. It’s not easy to find a good
teacher to mold your progress, mold you. When first comming to
China my intention was to stay for a 2 months, now I live here
studying Ziranmen. Hel-lo!"

with Master Lu is what I live for. I structure my whole day around
it. At 6:30 pm we meet at his house to practice conditioning. At
around 7:45 we set out to Yu Mountain where we will practice basics,
forms, etc until 10 pm. Master Lu’s
teaching style makes every step seem easy. He teaches in a way that
you first understand a basic pattern of a form, then, once you have
familiarized yourself with it, he will tell you how to fill in the
blanks. Once the blanks are filled he will teach more precisely how
to perform each movement. In this way, we are constantly learning
new material and reviewing old; this keeps the practice interesting
because when reviewing old material you learn new aspects of it.
Another important thing is the stress on health. We practice kungfu
for health above all else, so this takes priority. Master Lu is very
compassionate and patient in this respect because to practice kungfu
without practicing healthy living is senseless."

"Every individual has a specific reason reason for studying the martial arts, whether it is for defending oneself or searching internally for answers. After studying Yang style Taiji Quan in Canada for one year and Chen style Taiji Quan for another year here in China, I found myself physically and mentally unfulfilled. My physical constraints and chronic ailments still persisted and even after 4 hours of daily training, I couldn't achieve my goals. I felt heavy, tight and sore. Then, I travelled with my friend to Fuzhou to visit Master Lu and observe his class and methodology. After watching him move in such dynamic and fluid harmony, my mouth dropped. Additionally, his students were being worked extremely hard, but under the watchful eye of the Master. I was sold!!! I have just completed my first month of training and the difference in my physical and spiritual body is overwhelming. My strength, flexibility and movement is already at a level unreached for over 15 years and my chronic pains are slowly dissipating, like a fog lifting in the early morning. I cannot wait to see how I feel after one year!"

"I went to China shortly after completing my high school mainly to learn Mandarin Chinese and experience a new culture. I had been studying Karate for a year and have always been interested in Martial Arts. Naturally only after being in Fuzhou for two months I felt I needed something more than just school. I googled Fuzhou KungFu having no idea what I would find and I came across the ZiranmenChina website. A few days later myself and a friend went to where Shifu Lu Yaoqin taught and asked if he would teach me. The first class was agonizing and I felt the burn in muscles I had never used that way. Through the six months of consistant training I did, the days and classes never got any easier or much harder but my level of skill, flexability, strength and endurance kept improving. Every time I finished a class my body was tired but my mind was acute and relaxed. It is a feeling that I want to have consistantly. Shifu Lu Yaoqin is a very patient and extraordinary teacher having decades of training and experience. I am not certain what draws some individuals to martial arts but for me it was when I saw a man who could move his whole body with incredible speed, flexability and force with very little effort or energy time and time again without any sign of fatigue. It was like what would exhaust me in a half an hour or less he could do all day just as easily as walking. It inspired me to think that I could reach and maintain such a degree of health that would carry me contentedly into my very elder years. I am working my way back to China now having been away for more than a year now. I can't wait to be training again under Shifu Lu Yaoqin."
